I feel like most of us struggle with balancing our lives for the most part. I understand that it isn’t the easiest thing to accomplish, but we can get better with time and experience.

There are some important steps that have always helped me to find stability when I am disoriented.

Everything in your life, if it’s important to you should be connected. In order to achieve it, you must create a relationship between each aspect that’s going on for you right now.

First, you should identify what works and doesn’t work for you.

Here are the 5 steps that can help you balance your life.

1. What really matters (PRIORITIZE)

Take a piece of paper and stablish some categories for your current lifestyle.

Example, work, school, relationships, house-work, kids, money, family, etc. I want you to do an inventory. Write for each category what isn’t working. Then, prioritize and eliminate. Decide what really matters to you, what are those things that really require your attention and give them priority, so you are going to put aside the rest of the tasks. The reason why it’s because you need to focus on the good first, in order to fix whatever’s left. Later in this article I will tell you what to do with the categories that aren’t currently working.

2. Workout your schedule

Once you know what your priorities are, then it’s time to work on time management. If you don’t know how to plan, I will leave a link for you to check my article on how to make the most out of your time. Time is key and it’s not good to waste it. Decide what time do you have for each category and how you are going to use the most out of it.

3. Take a look at your current habits.

When it comes to balancing, daily habits are very important. How are you going to have the energy to balance your life if you don’t know if your habits have ben helpful.

Are you spending valuable time washing Netflix? Do you want abs, but you are eating bad food every day? Are you keeping yourself hydrated? Sounds simple right? That is where your biggest struggle. Sometimes identifying a bad habit can help you find where the problem is.

4. Be open for change and possibilities.

Don’t expect different results, if you are not open to act differently. I have to say, this is the hardest one because our fears are usually bigger than our dreams, and also because we don’t know how to let things go. Guess what? You haven’t realized that you don’t own anything, and that’s why there is nothing to lose. It’s pointless to be scare of the things we don’t have. This doesn’t mean you should go and live a crazy life, but it will be great if you look at it this way, what doesn’t make you growth will make you better, and if it doesn’t make you better, it will make you growth.

5. Take care of yourself

Now, self-care is trending on social media, so I am not going to tell you to take a bath and post it on IG. What I want you to do is to take a bath and enjoy it. Even when you are brushing your teeth try to be aware in that present moment. You have time for this and more, you just haven’t made it a priority, and if you don’t have time for you then, what for? Learn to love yourself fist, then you will love your life.

This is what I was going to tell you about the rest of the categories, just learn to love them even if they are not working for you.
